Нижня частина кубка

Description

The lower part of a bell-shaped goblet with a flat bottom. It has a distinctly red body and is covered on the outside with an emerald-green monochrome glaze. The body is divided by vertical bands into large petals (the outer surface of goblets of this type is quite characteristic, so its appearance can be reconstructed). The inside has a bright-yellow glaze and is ornamented with a central composition of a triquetra interlaced with a triangle with strongly concave sides ending in loop-shaped corners; remains of a band of alternating curls running around the inner surface of the body can also be seen. The outer surface of the bottom bears an incised maker's mark in the form of the letter "K" or a variation of it. Goblets of this type belong to group 1 of Byzantine imports, "Elaborate Incised Ware" after I. B. Teslenko, and were made in Constantinople. Dated to the second half of the 14th century. Scientific description by Yaroslav Chentsov.
