Description

A fragment of the wall of a red-slip bowl stamped with a cross with a double outline and straight arms ending at right angles. Judging by the shape of the cross, the bowl belongs to the late chronological group III after J. Hayes (470–580). The form of the cross has wide parallels in the Byzantine world, including finds of similar stamps on ceramics in Crimea (the Karshi-Bair cemetery and others), and is dated to the first half of the 6th century AD. Scientific description by Yaroslav Chentsov.
