Museum Arts Prykarpattia

The Prykarpattia Art Museum (formerly the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Art Museum) is a treasury of the region's sacred, fine and decorative art. Its collection numbers more than 13,000 items. The museum was founded in 1980, and its exhibition is housed in the oldest architectural monument of Ivano-Frankivsk, the former Roman Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary and Saints Andrew and Stanislaus (1672–1703). The museum's branch in Rohatyn includes the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit, a monument of 16th–19th-century wooden architecture and painting, and the Mykola Uhryn-Bezhrishnyi Museum-Estate. In 2013 the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit was unanimously added to the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the nomination "Wooden Tserkvas of the Carpathian Region in Poland and Ukraine".
